Gas and Liquid Gas Measurement

Contrec have been manufacturing gas flow computers for over 25 years.

Applications for gas and liquid gas measurement include natural gas distribution, general gas measurement such as nitrogen, compressed air, argon, and liquefied gases such as LPG. 

Contrec's gas flow computers are designed to operate with virtually any type of primary flowmeters including Orifice Plates, Venturi Tubes, Averaging Pitot Tubes, V-Cone Vortex and Turbines. 

On liquid gas we often work with Coriolis and Positive Displacement flowmeters.  Operating from either pulse or analogue flow signals along with temperature (RTD or Analogue) and pressure, Contrec flow instruments will calculate, display and output corrected and uncorrected volumes, mass, energy, pressure and temperature.  Each flow computer incorporates configurable pulse/4-20mA outputs and alarms, will provide the necessary loop power to feed the flow, pressure and temperature transmitters and can also output data on RS232 or RS485 communication cables.

Contrec gas flow computers calculate to very high accuracies incorporating establishes calculation methods including AGA, SGERG and API standards to ensure precision measurement.  They can be easily configured using Contrec’s own free Program Manager software which not only allows instruments to be quickly programmed but will also retain a log of all settings should there ever be an issue with the measurement. 

Additionally, Contrec’s DataMod reporting software can be a fantastic tool to allow the process information collected from multiple flow computers to be analysed from the control room, provide a PDF report or output the data as a CSV file for 3rd party analysis.
