How we started
Contrec was founded in 1986 to develop the first electronic flowmeter displays for Shell in Australia, at a time when mechanical gear driven displays were the norm.
Contrec quickly began to see a huge demand for their equipment due to increased automation, and the need for improved performance to reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
The company began to expand into new markets, providing batch controllers into food and beverage industries and battery powered instruments into the remote Aussie outback, where power supplies were not feasible. Soon after this, we began exporting these exciting solutions further afield, to the USA and Europe and Africa. Dedicated offices were formed to provide local technical support and stock holding in these areas, while Contrec continued to develop solutions for tanker loading, fuel blending, additive injection and office software.
Our instruments are installed all around the world
Contrec is proud to be the benchmark for process and petroleum instrumentation for many industries.
We have a professionally managed team with many years’ experience in applying flow solutions in a variety of sectors. The company is fully certified to ISO9001:2015 and our equipment carries the latest approvals for use in hazardous areas.
We are committed to continuous development and our products are tested to comply with international standards on accuracy and to the changing demands of international energy, chemical and water industries.
