Accuracy
The traditional way of monitoring tank volumes and contents was to have a mechanical gauge attached to a float which sat on the liquid surface. As the float increased and decreased, the float would move and the gauge needle would shift. Over time these mechanical systems would wear and fail. Eventually electronic level sensors and pressure transmitters began to be used which were far more reliable and accurate. It became important to not only measure the tank contents precisely but also to have reliable alarms should the tank level rise or fall to unacceptable points.
Performance
Contrec provide Level Monitors which allow strapping tables to be introduced to account for non standard tank shapes. They can be supplied as Intrinsically Safe devices so can be safely installed on Petroleum or Chemical sites. All instruments have up to 4 assignable alarms which can be set to a variety of Hi and Lo alarm points. We are able to supply level monitors with Modbus outputs which will retransmit critical data such as tank level, % full and contents (volume or mass).
