Accuracy

Loop Powered Indicators are ideal where a power supply is not available, as they operate on an existing 4-20mA loop from other instrumentation in the plant.  This loop not only provides the signal to measure but also the power required by the instrument to function.  In many cases, loop indicators provide a valuable display of a process parameter local to the operator whilst still allowing the signal to be re-transmitted to the control room.

Performance

Typically used with ‘blind’ flowmeters such as Differential Pressure transmitters, or when flowmeters are installed in difficult to access areas (roof spaces, underground pit etc), loop indicators are a useful tool in getting information instantly right where its needed.
